“A person accomplished in view ….can’t do deeds with fixed result in the next life.”(??)
(abhabbo diṭṭhisampanno puggalo āNANTARIYAM KAMMAM KāTUM)
Thanks
Afterthought: why ‘fixed’ instead of ‘with immediate effect’? And where does ‘in the next life’ come in? The Pali seems to say, literally: a Sotapanna is unable to do deeds with immediate effect.
Still, how should that be taken to mean?
It means a diṭṭhisampanna person (meaning a Sotapanna) is incapable of doing an ānantariya kamma.
– That makes complete sense, because if an ānantariya kamma is done, one would be reborn in the apaya in the next birth.
– A Sotapanna will never be born in an apaya.
So you mean that the term anantariya kamma does not have to be qualified by ‘papa’; like ditthi by itself implies micca ditthi, is that it. I took it at face value,i.e. any anantariya kamma, good or bad.
