Question on Kusala-Mula Saṅkhāra Are Needed to Attain Nibbāna

“12. Any “good deed” done with the BASE LEVEL of understanding is a puñña kamma. The same deed done with the DEEPER LEVEL of understanding is a kusala kamma. Let us discuss that briefly next.”

May I know what is the thought process that is different in a good deed between a punna and kusala kamma? Let’s say we see a begger on a street. Im thinking that the punna kamma would be: “Let me give him some money because he is suffering and he needs the money more than me”<br />

What would the kusala kamma thought process be? Is it the same as punna kamma^, just that it is done with a person who has understanding of the 4 noble truths?

It would be the same, the difference is that someone who hasn’t realised Nibbana, would engage in Punna Kamma

But someone who has realised what Nibbana is, all the meritorious deeds become Kusala Kamma as they help in purifying one’s mind, leading that person to Nibbana
