      Vipassanā – Buddhist Meditation

      #4 second bullet (ii)

Once the “distorted views” are eliminated, the next step is to eliminate the “distorted saññā” or saññā vipallāsa.

I have thought that sanna vipallasa refers to defiled sanna. However, here it is explained that distorted sanna is sanna vipallasa. Is it possible that sanna vipallasa does not refer to distorted sanna itself, but rather to the failure to understand the role of distorted sanna?

You are right. I just revised it as follows:

(ii) Once the “distorted views” are eliminated, the next step is to eliminate the tendency to attach to the “distorted saññā” or saññā vipallāsa.

      • Thank you!
