If memories are in the mind, then why people lose it when there is an injury to the Brain?

Memories are in vinnana dhatu. The brain retrieves them.

      • If the brain becomes defective, memory recall will be poor. Depending on the extent of the damage to the brain, memory recall can even stop, for example, for those with Alzheimer’s.

There are several posts on this subject. Following are only a few:

Here is a case that might be related to this discussion. I believe this teenager’s brain lost the connection with this life and took on the memories of his previous life. I’ve also seen stories of people waking up with abilities they never developed in their lives. For example, they could play instruments, do advanced mathematics, and many others. The connection between Vinnana and the brain is astounding.

So how can a brain injury lead to one recalling past lives’ memories?

It seems to be a readjustment in the brain, allowing recalling different memory records.

      • There is another well-documented account of Dorothy Eady, who started recalling her past life in Egypt thousands of years ago.
