Anidassana Viññāṇa – What It Really Means
9. It is stated in the “Saṅgīti Sutta (Digha Nikāya 33)“: “Tividhena rūpasaṅgaho—sanidassanasappaṭighaṃ rūpam, anidassanasappaṭighaṃ rūpaṃ, anidassanaappaṭighaṃ rūpaṃ“.
Translated: “Threefold classification of rupa (matter) – visible and graspable, invisible and graspable, invisible and ungraspable.”
I’m not exactly certain what does “graspable” and “ungraspable” mean from the post, but would graspable mean the rupa can be detected / grasped by the 5 physical senses whereas ungraspable means the rupa can only be detected by the mana indriya?
Besides the obvious difference for sanidassanasappaṭighaṃ rūpam and anidassanasappaṭighaṃ rūpaṃ as “visible” and “invisible”. Is there a further explanation or details on the differences between the 2 rupa’s?
