OK. I understand now.

You wrote in the first post:

What if we revise it as:
“To do so, one has to learn the following three things. (i) What peace of mind is, (ii) how to stop a distressing mindset, (iii) and how to maintain a peaceful state of mind.”

Is that consistent with what you have in mind?
