I was wondering how should I contemplate in order to reach the Anagami stage, then this is what I realised .

Firstly, we have seen that no beauty, taste, sound, smell , touch ,etc. exists in reality, these are just our own Perceptions.

What exists is just Energy manifesting in a certain manner.

Now if this is clear, one would realise that no Object has the above mentioned things, so attachment for any materialistic object would be wiped off.

But the attachment towards those feelings still remain i.e. Sakadagami

Now let’s analyse the Anagami part.

A person carries 100kg of weight on his back and walks for 1 km. Someone asked him why is he doing this? He says “because when I will drop this weight, I will feel relaxed and it would feel so good!”.

So what do you feel about such a person?

You clearly know he is Mad.

He keeps on doing that because when he drops that weight off he feels very good and relaxed. And then he says “Wow, life is so good!”

This is what actually is happening to all of us!

The mind is Willfully generating Vexation! Just to feel relaxed after that vexation is gone! And the mind has believed that this is Happiness!

No feeling has any essence, the mind generates vexation just to relieve it and feel relaxed. This is the trap!

If there is a super beautiful woman completely naked, why is our mind wanting her so much? Because greater the vexation, greater the pleasure! So even though that’s just a bundle of Energy, mind has Created this trap because it doesn’t know what true happiness is!(Avijja)

Unnecessary vexation, just like that man with 100kgs. Unnecessary stress, just to relieve it and believe that this is Happiness.

The mind knows no other way to feel happy, so it has resorted to this Vicious cycle!

If one realises this , one could see that the Mind has gone Crazy.

Even a pile of faeces can generate pleasure if this cycle runs!

If a crazy man realises that he is crazy, he would not be crazy anymore. Only the Buddha was such a man.

Yes. What you described is summarized in the short “Bhāra Sutta (SN 22.22).”

      • Living beings happily carry a huge burden (pañcupādānakkhandha), thinking it is going to bring them happiness!
      • By the way, the Sinhala word for bhāra is similar, “බර.” It means a “load.”

Why do they happily carry that burden?

      • They do not realize that most “sensory pleasures” are not vedanā but “distorted saññā.
      • For example, there is no “beauty in a woman” or a “sweet taste in sugar.”
      • See “Saññā Nidānā hi Papañca Saṅkhā – Immoral Thoughts Based on “Distorted Saññā”
      • The title of the above post says it all: “Immoral thoughts arise based on ‘distorted saññā’.Here, “nidāna” means “root cause” or “the basis.”
      • Paticca Samuppada explains how our physical bodies arise with that “built-in distorted saññā,” which is why things like “beauty in a woman” or a “sweet taste in sugar” appear real. Even an Arahant gets those saññās (their bodies are built the same way), but their minds are not fooled; they fully understand the Paticca Samuppada process.
      • Comprehending that can make a lot of progress. It is like seeing the “trick of a magician.” After that, the magic show is not as impressive anymore. By comprehending “Nature’s magic show,” one can get rid of kama raga!

When I first came across the bhara sutta, I couldn’t really grasp the essence, it didn’t internalise, I couldn’t understand it fully.

But as the wisdom grew, I was able to understand it automatically.  It automatically came into my mind. It was an “Ahh” moment for me. I can feel some realisation. I hope I will attain my goal sooner!

This also proves that if someone has attained the magga phala, he will understand the Dhamma entirely without anyone’s help upto the Arahant stage. That happens automatically, the mind Will progress.
