      Hello people!
I was curious if the Gandhabba has a sanna on it’s own (without the physical body)

Is It The Gandhabba That Attains Nibbana And Permanently Gets Deleted From World

      Here Lal stated:

“Yes. A human has a subtle/invisible “manomaya kaya (gandhabba)” and a physical body.”

and “Brahmas only have a manomaya kaya (no physical body), which is not called a gandhabba”

Therefore, I would assume that since Brahmasmanomayakaya has a rupa sanna, the human/animal gandhabba would also have a sanna, since they are both manomaya kaya.

Am I correct or am I wrong?

Yes. You are correct.  Saññā ALWAYS arises in the manomaya kaya, whether it is a Brahma, human, or animal.

      1. All thoughts (with rupa, vedanā, saññā, saṅkhāra, and viññāṇa) arise in the manomaya kaya, NEVER in a physical body. P.S. For those who think thoughts arise in the brain, most animals do not have brains.
      2. Also, remember that in the suttas, rupa, vedanā, saññā, saṅkhāra, and viññāṇa refer to the respective upādānakkhandha, i.e., rupaupādānakkhandha, etc.

Regarding (ii) above, see “Rupa, Vedanā, Saññā, Saṅkhāra, Viññāṇa – Mostly Misunderstood.”
