Thank you for your insight sir!

I will continue to take notes on the posts that I read. Here is the link to the google document that I have the notes on, just in case:

Today I am leaving the US on a trip to Sri Lanka for about 6 weeks, so I won’t be able to study Dhamma as much as I would like, but I will definitely practice wise reflection and mindfulness there.

As for the Pali language, some words are easy for me to pronounce and understand since I can speak Sinhala. For example, when I first saw the word “gati”, I instantly knew the meaning and the prounounciation since I understand Sinhala. Generally speaking, certain Pali terms seem oddly familar to me. But I still don’t know that much about the Pali language, and will work to become familar with them as you suggested.

Thank you again for this information!

It just occured to me to add this, but I have started reading the series of posts labeled “Moral Living/Fundamentals”. I thought it would be a good idea to take notes; is there a specific way I should take notes, or should I not take notes at all? Thank you for your insight Lal sir!

I really appreciate the words of encouragement Saurabh. Reading about your experience gives me a newfound sense of hope that one day I can attain the Sotapanna Anugami stage as well. May you attain Nibbana!

Thank you very much for your encouragement my friend, it helped me a lot on this path! Hopefully I will attain this state one day and even meet Maitreya Buddha in the future by making aspirations day after day. I will defintely watch the video you have sent me.

Once again thank you! Namo Buddhaya!

Hello and welcome buddy! I am amazed that you have this much understanding at the age of 16 years! I can clearly see why venerable lal sir hastily put that post together. I am 29 years old and I see that you have more/deeper understanding about dhamma than myself. I felt literally encouraged when I read your questions and responses. Btw I don’t know if I should tell this blatantly like this, but as your friend I wish to tell you that this website is run by someone who is ariya (noble person). This is my personal belief and opinion based on the way the content is there on this website. Anyways the point is you (including myself) are more lucky than we think. Once again Welcome bro!
Btw venerable @Lal sir, I have related question, let’s say there is an ariya being and I am aware of that, then is it correct as per buddha’s teaching to mention this in case I think it can be useful to someone and won’t get misinterpreted? I am aware that one should not do this because if one is claiming something which is not true then that is lying and breaking of the precepts and accumulation of bad kamma as a result but what if contrary to this one is sure about it, then can one say it in goodwill? (In my place in India also I am aware of one ariya (noble person), so I am asking this in that context as well) (I seem too much direct sometimes so sorry for that)
I hope I didn’t overstep anything. If I did, please delete this post of mine lal sir because I fear unwholesome kamma around and towards noble beings.

Hello Saurabh! Thank you for your words of encouragement; I am not really able to study the Buddha Dhamma as much as I would like to, due to my final exams, but after then I will dive deeper into the teachings on this website and hopefully attain my goal. Once again thank you for your kind words!

    Thank you sir,

I will do as you suggest and focus completely on my studies. As soon as the school year is over I will focus on the Dhamma. Thank you for your guidance.

Thank you for the information Lal sir! It is mindblowing to think that we know less than 0.1% of species that have existed on Earth!

I see, I did not know that radiocarbon datings were accurate for up to 50000 years. Thank you for clarifying this sir!

    Thank you very much sir!

As my weeklong holiday is beginning tommorow, I can spend much of that time dedicated to reading the posts on this website. As for my education, I am doing very well in school and plan to become a electrical engineer for my city like my father before me. I’ve heard it is a very well paying job, so my financial situation should permit me to continue pursuing my goal of Sotapanna.  However, I understand nothing is guaranteed so I will work diligently until I can land this job.

    Thank you again!

I am very grateful for this post sir. I was able to learn new concepts including the fact that even though a human who has cultivated jhana will be reborn in a rupa or arupa loka, they will ultimately be reborn back in kama loka, and may be reborn in the apayas as well. It is also very interesting to me that once someone has attained the Sotapanna state, they gain access to Satipatthana Bhumi or “temporary Nibbana”.  It was clear to me that achieving the state of Sotapanna will reduce a great deal suffering in future rebirths, and that is why I set the attainment of this magga phala as my goal. So the question becomes how exactly can I attain the sotapanna state, and what actions and mental states should I cultivate everyday in order to make progress toward, and eventually achieve this goal.

Also I would like to add that my sense desires were significantly reduced or even temporarily eliminated during this time. However, subtle craving for the state which I entered arose in me so I comprehended that this sensation is of anicca nature, and that I cannot have arise whenever I want it to; effort to do so will only lead to suffering. I know that I must let go of the craving to achieve this state in order to actually achieve it.

No worries Lal sir, I am not discouraged; as long as it is possible, I will attain it or at least the Sotapanna Anugami stage before I die.

    Thank you very much!

If I am correct then, to attain Sotapanna in this life, I must first start off with compehending the Noble Truths, then I have to comprehend Tilakkhana, and then once I understand it well through personal reflection, then I will achieve Sotapanna?
